GOVERNMENT PALACE



    The Government Palace is also called Pizarro’s house, the Palace is the residence of the Peruvian President. It is located in the Main Square of Lima, and it was built in 1536 by Francisco Pizarro. Its style is Neocolonial. The Palace was rebuilt after the earthquakes in 1586, 1687, 1769 and 1921.


     The Government Palace is open to the public but access may be restricted, and it is necessary to either call or make an appointment at the office around the corner. It is best to ask the guard in front of the Government Palace for directions and to take your ID or passport with you. Once inside you can enjoy the decorated lounges, the beautiful entrance hall and all the other unbelievable parts of nearly 500 years of history in Lima.
